Founded in 1999, Message Film is an independent production company focused on artistically driven cinema and international co-productions. Led by Izabela Wójcik, Violetta Kamińska and Dariusz Jabłoński, the company is known for its long-term collaboration with leading European filmmakers and its consistent commitment to artistic integrity and high production standards.
For over two decades, Message Film has been producing films across Europe and beyond, working with both established auteurs and emerging voices. The company supports projects at various stages – from debut features to films by internationally acclaimed directors – developing cinema that is contemporary, uncompromising and rooted in strong authorial vision.
Message Film’s productions have premiered and received awards at major international film festivals. Recent highlights include “Traces”, a documentary directed by Alisa Kovalenko and Marysia Nikitiuk, presented in the Berlinale Panorama section and nominated for the Berlinale Documentary Award 2026.
The company’s filmography also includes “Dovlatov” by Alexei German Jr., awarded the Silver Bear for Outstanding Artistic Contribution at Berlinale; “Back to the Family” by Šarūnas Bartas, which premiered at IFF Rotterdam; “When the Trees Fall”, the internationally acclaimed debut by Marysia Nikitiuk and the first Ukrainian feature ever screened at the Berlinale; as well as the documentary “The Trial: Russian Federation vs Oleg Sentsov”, presented in the Berlinale Special section, combining cinematic excellence with strong civic engagement.
